I also have been known to slip in a few "u"s and "r"s, as in, "where r u" (to teens age 15). But I hate this language abuse. I really hate all the decoding that goes into reading a text too. I like to capitalize and use periods. I think it ...I use the Oxford comma in my writing. I think it is very useful for clarification purposes in many instances. As for being a stickler for grammar, I personally am most of the time. I don't really text much, and when I do, I use very few abbreviations.
